List Building Basics


This is one of the most important aspects of your internet business that you need to do. If you look at all the very successful marketers on the internet you will see that they have very big lists. I know of some who have lists the size of over a hundred thousand. So when they send an email they make up to ten thousand dollars profit from that one email. I think that this should give you an idea of how powerful it is to build a very big list. Building a list is really easy when you know how to do it.

The most important aspect of list building is creating a squeeze page. The reason for this is that most prospects will not buy from you the very first time that they see your web site. Usually they will only buy after the eight contact. So you will be wasting a lot of traffic if you do not capture their name and email address. You need this to follow up relentlessly with your prospects. Some prospects will only buy after two or three months of follow up.

Creating a squeeze page that converts very well can be very tricky. The main principle is to give your prospect a reason for subscribing to your newsletter. Usually this can be done by offering them a report. However many people create a squeeze page that does not convert very well. My first squeeze page that I created only converted between five and ten percent. So for example if you had a thousand visitors to your web site you would only get fifty to a hundred subscribers. Now if you consistently split test your results and tweaked different headlines and different bullet points you could increase that to thirty percent. A very good squeeze page will convert between thirty and fifty percent of the visitors. So out of a thousand visitors you will now be receiving between three hundred and five hundred subscribers a month which will make a very big difference to your bottom line.

Once you master this skill of list building you will be able to earn a significant amount on the internet. The reason for this is that you would have cornered a sizable amount of your niche market and be able to market to them over and over again.
